Crystal wands have long been traditional tools of healers and shamans. They come in different styles and sizes and can be used in crystal healing, laying on of stones, directing energy, crystal grids, etc. Some are in their natural state, some polished and some cut to shape. Wands can be rounded, straight-sided, tapered or non-tapered. Some will be rounded on both ends, some with one end rounded and the other pointed or terminated. And some yet will be terminated on both ends. The rounded ends are best for massage and the terminated are used for pin pointing smaller, more specific areas and directing the flow of energy.

The natural healing properties of crystals are imparted when used on or near your body. Use your crystal wand to ease tension or pain anywhere in the body and for treating and releasing trigger points.

When using crystal wands in crystal healing, place them on the appropriate area of the body to impart its healing energy or place around the body to either direct energy toward or away from the body.

For massaging, place the wand directly on the area to be massaged and move it in a circular motion over the area or use it like a small rolling pin.

A wand can also be used for scanning someone’s aura to detect blockages. Hold it a few inches away, aiming the point of the wand toward the person. Choose a starting point and begin to move the wand slowly over the person’s body, noting any areas that feel different. If the wand feels difficult to move or even vibrates, it means it is detecting a blockage. After you have finished scanning, go back and work on the blocked areas using your wand or another appropriate crystal.
