Kuan Yin, Kuan Yin, Kwan Yin, Guan Yin, Guan Yin, all are short for Kuan-shi Yin which means Observing the Sounds of the world. She is the Chinese Bodhisattva/Goddess of compassion mercy and kindness. In her left hand she holds a vase of pure water and hears the cries and prayers of the people, particularly children. She is sometimes depicted with a dragon which symbolizes wisdom, power and transformation.

Kuan Yin is one of the embodiments of the Divine Mother.
