Sacred Geometry

Sacred Geometry, also called Platonic Solids, are a series of geometric shapes called polyhedrons that have sacred meanings. All of the sacred geometry shapes are in all of nature and they all have their own energy.

Sacred Geometry, also called Platonic Solids, are a series of geometric shapes called polyhedrons that have sacred meanings. All of the sacred geometry shapes are in all of nature and they all have their own energy. The five main shapes are, tetrahedron, hexahedron, octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron. Some add the merkaba and the sphere to round them out. Sacred Geometry is the language of the Universe and can be used for our messages and intentions to get through in a clear way.

A polyhedron is a 3-dimensional solid made by joining together polygons. The word 'polyhedron' comes from two Greek words, poly meaning many, and hedron referring to the surface. The polyhedrons are defined by the number of faces it has.

When using sacred geometry for spiritual purposes, it focuses on the elements associated with each one: earth, air, water, fire and spirit. These are the 5 main geometric shapes people are most familiar with. By working with all 7 symbols they can be matched to the 7 chakras in our body.

Each of the shapes resonates with a chakra, an element and a colour:

Cube - Root chakra, earth, red, green or orange.
Icosahedron - Sacral chakra, water, orange or blue.
Tetrahedron - Sacral chakra, fire, red or yellow.
Octahedron - Heart chakra, air, green pink or yellow.
Dodecahedron - Throat chakra, ether or spirit, blue, violet, or green.
Merkaba - 3rd Eye chakra, spiritual body, indigo or violet.
Sphere - Crown chakra, the Universe, violet, white or gold.

Sacred geometry sets are carved in different crystals such as, Amethyst, Lapis, Obsidian, Purple Opal, Quartz, Rose Quartz, Scolecite, etc. A set in Quartz would be the most versatile

The sacred geometry shapes can be used in crystal healing and chakra balancing by placing the appropriate shape on the corresponding chakra. Start at the Root chakra by placing the cube, continue with placing the appropriate shape on each chakra up to the Crown. Allow the crystals to work for 10-20 minutes. Then remove them starting at the Crown and continue removing each one with the Root chakra last. By doing this a couple of times a month, it gives you an energetic fine tuning. If you feel tired or experience a disappointment, hurt or trauma, you may want to do this exercise more often. Remember to cleanse your crystals afterwards if they feel they need it.

An interesting way to put your intention out to the Universe would be to write out your intention. Lay down with your intention at your Crown chakra. Place each of the 7 shapes on the corresponding chakras, starting with the cube at the Root and placing the sphere at your Crown last. Keep your intention in your mind, seeing yourself living it. Allow the crystals to work for 10-20 minutes. Then remove them starting at the Crown and continue removing each one with the Root chakra last.

When finished, place your sacred geometry crystals in a row on your altar or in a sacred space on top of your intention. This will keep your intention broadcasting to the Universe.

Alternatively, you can work with a single sacred geometry shape if you need to balance and/or heal a single chakra.
